Chicago luxury buyers reached back to the past this week, as three of the five priciest homes that sold were over 100 years old.

One of them, on the Near North Side and built in 1886, is nearly 10,000 square feet and includes a four-stop passenger elevator.

The sales on this week’s list total $13.7 million, a slight increase from last week’s $12 million. This is the second straight week the total for the five has increased. The low point was a $7 million weekly tally at the beginning of the month.

There are three single-family homes on this week’s list and two condos, including one on the 77th floor of the Aqua in the Loop, which was built by Magellan Development Group.

In addition to the Near North Side property, two other homes are located in Lincoln Park and one is in Kenwood.

Price and property details were found on Redfin from Aug. 22 to 28.
