Double condo in Palm Beach Biltmore sells for $7.65M

A Palm Beach couple has purchased a two-bedroom double apartment at the Palm Beach Biltmore for $7.65 million.

Alan and Christine Curtis reportedly purchased the two lobby level units from the estate of the late Frieda Anne Furman, who died in February 2013. Her husband, financier and Broadway producer Roy L. Furman, served as the estate’s ancillary personal representative. The Furmans bought the units in 2007 for $5 million from Slim-Fast founder S. Daniel Abraham and conducted extensive renovations, according to the Palm Beach Daily News.

The 4,349-square-foot apartment faces the lake and was combined from two units when the hotel converted to condos in 1980. The building opened in 1926 as the Alba Hotel. “The apartment, at one point, was part of the main lobby of the hotel. It faces directly west and has an extremely lovely open patio facing the gardens and fountain,” Douglas Elliman agent and Biltmore resident Bebe Pesenti told the Daily News.

Since 1990, the Curtises have owned a landmarked beachfront house on South Ocean Boulevard that previously belong to the late John Lennon and Yoko Ono. [Palm Beach Daily News] – Chris Guanche
