Openings and closings: Ultimate Burgers and Dogs opens, T Thai closes

In Manhattan, restaurant Burger Shoppe has opened Workshoppe, a two-floor think-tank and loft space above its Financial District storefront, which will be available for rent by the day, week or month. At 6 Clinton Street, Michael Huynh’s new Vietnamese spot, B Clinton, and a new restaurant from The Dessert Truck owners, which has yet to be named, will coexist. La Colombe has opened at 270 Lafayette Street. Woodson & Ford has closed its private party space at 642 Broadway but plans to open as a real bar nearby. Meanwhile, an unnamed club will take over the 642 Broadway space. Panya Bakery may complete its move to 8 Stuyvesant Street in the East Village, in the old Around the Clock space, next week. The Standard Hotel’s Boom Boom Room will soon be called “QT.” Albertine General has opened at 17 Christopher Street between Greenwich Avenue and Waverly Place. After three decades, Chanterelle at 2 Harrison Street has shuttered. Todd English is hoping to open Oliver Todd at the Great Jones Hotel on 25 Great Jones Street in Noho. In the Meatpacking District, the owners of Team Bagatelle are taking over the Merkato 55 space at 55 Gansevoort Street, with plans to turn it into an Italian Brasserie. The Holey Cream, an ice cream and doughnut shop, will open in six weeks at 796 Ninth Avenue between 52nd and 53rd streets. Temporary shop Halloween Warehouse is open through the end of October on Broadway between 99th and 100th streets.

The owner of Astoria’s BZ Grill on Astoria Boulevard at 27th Street is considering taking advantage of declining rents by opening a new branch in Manhattan but did not identify where.

In Brooklyn, Environment 337’s new home design store, Retrospect, has opened on Smith Street between President and Caroll streets in Crown Heights where Hasker used to be. Piquant opened this weekend at 259 Flatbush Avenue near Sixth Avenue in Prospect Heights. Orchid Café, specializing in biscuits, is coming to 212 Patchen Avenue Near Macon Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Saturday. The Country Boys taco truck will be parking at the intersection of Clinton and Bay streets in Red Hook through Nov. 1. Ultimate Burgers and Dogs is expected to open in the old Chicory space on 243 Degraw Street between Court and Clinton streets in Cobble Hill, as Park Slope’s T Thai, the second-floor restaurant at 125 Seventh Avenue at Carroll Street closes.
