George Shinn, founder of the Charlotte Hornets, wants to sell his home in Admirals Cove for 26% more than he paid in April 2017
The founder and former owner of the Charlotte Hornets professional basketball team wants to sell his waterfront house in Jupiter for $5.25 million less than a year after buying it for $4.15 million.
George Shinn, 76, who bought the five-bedroom house in April 2017, is asking 26 percent more than he paid for the residence through a company. The listing agent is Debra Manuel of NV Realty Group.
Shinn founded the Charlotte Hornets in 1988 and moved the National Basketball Association franchise to New Orleans in 2002. He no longer owns the franchise.
Built in 1992, his Spanish-style home in Jupiter’s upscale Admirals Cove development has a first-level master bedroom with a private terrace and a master bathroom and dressing room.
Interior features include a bar and home theater. The backyard has a swimming pool, a guest house with one bedroom and a private dock big enough for a yacht up to 80 feet long.
Shinn listed his house in Admirals Cove shortly after Jeff Nelson, a former pitcher for the New York Yankees, listed his house in the same development with a $14 million asking price. [Mansion Global] – Mike Seemuth
