Movers & Shakers: CBRE Hires Gian Rodriguez in Miami

CBRE brought in Gian Rodriguez as managing director of its Miami office, according to a press release. Rodriguez will helm the Miami operation, after more than 12 years at Cushman & Wakefield where he was a managing director. Over the course of his career, he has closed more than $2 billion in deals, the release shows. 

In Miami, Pinnacle added another vice president. The firm hired Lauren Levrant as vice president of affordable housing, a press release shows. The move comes just a few months after Pinnacle brought in Alex Arostegui as vice president of development in September. 

Levrant started her career as an intern at Pinnacle, before moving to the West Coast, the release shows. She was most recently the senior originator for affordable housing preservation investments at PNC Bank, and in her new role with Pinnacle will be expanding the firm’s affordable housing portfolio with a focus on Miami.

After Jeffrey Bass of the former Shubin & Bass departed to start his own law firm, the Miami-based real estate-focused legal team has changed its name to Shubin Law Group and is expanding to Tampa, according to a press release. The firm currently has offices in Miami and West Palm Beach, and will be opening an office in Tampa with new hire Jim Shimberg at the helm, the release shows.

As another switch up in the South Florida real estate legal scene, New York-based Moritt Hock & Hamroff brought in Sean Mitchell as counsel for its secured lending and real estate practice groups, a press release shows. Mitchell joins the firm’s Fort Lauderdale office.

In Miami, Lee & Associates promoted Michael Avendano from vice president to senior vice president, a press release shows. Avendano specializes in industrial sales and leasing, and will continue that focus in his new position. 

Also in Miami, Brown Harris Stevens added new agents Doreen Fuentes, Jessica Diane Smith, Cadija Harris, Maria Laura Morris, Javier Fajardo, Henry “Hank” Paul and Sandra K. Alonso, according to a release.
