Corcoran Global Living, a franchise affiliate of New York’s Corcoran Group, added 250 associates and five offices to its Bay Area operation, bringing its headcount in the region to more than 700.

The brokerage is expanding through a merger with Thrive Real Estate, it said in a statement. Thrive’s owners and managers, Steve Belluomini, Debbie Wong and Rick Whipple, are joining Corcoran Global as partners, the release said. The offices and associates now under the Corcoran Global brand are in San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties, strengthening the brokerage’s presence across three of the Bay Area’s five largest subregions.

“Corcoran Global Living’s vision for the future of real estate and values are in strong alignment with ours,” Belluomini said. “With the systems and processes that Corcoran Global Living has built, our agents will be able to serve the consumer in ways that will set a new standard for the clients in our marketplaces.”

Corcoran Global has steadily expanded its Bay Area team since forming in 2020 after Lake Tahoe’s Oliver Luxury Real Estate and Reno and Zephyr Real Estate teamed up and rebranded. The firm added a husband-and-wife team to its Sonoma/Napa offices in January 2021 before merging with Highland Partners, a luxury boutique brokerage with 70 agents serving the East Bay, in September.

Three months prior to the Highland merger, it had more than 430 agents in the Bay Area, making it the sixth-largest residential brokerage in the region, according to data from the San Francisco Business Times. That deal increased its number of offices in the Bay Area to 20, the Business Times said.

The release didn’t say how many employees Corcoran Global has after its merger with Thrive, but an analysis of Business Times data and its recent additions indicate that it’s about 750 agents. The firm is an independently owned and operated affiliate of Corcoran Group, which Barbara Corcoran launched in 1973 and sold to NRT in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran is known as one of the panelists on the show “Shark Tank.”
