Jerry Jones’ Blue Star Land wants to incorporate Prosper’s farming identity into a mixed-use development in the growing suburb north of Dallas.

The Dallas Cowboys owner’s firm plans to make several grain silos the centerpiece of the project, which will include up to 500 apartments, retail and a park, the Dallas Morning News reported

Blue Star Land acquired the property, near the west end of Broadway Street, over two years ago and is in the process of seeking zoning approval. The developer wants to work with the community to create a design that’s acceptable, while adding to Prosper’s historic district.

Blue Star has worked with Prosper officials to cultivate “a very strategic and comprehensive plan” for the site. The firm plans to build loft-style townhomes, a park with an entertainment area and retail adjacent to the historic grain silos, Mary Ann Moon, executive director of the Prosper Economic Development Corporation told the outlet.

Blue Star continued to make its mark on the once bustling farming community. It’s also at the helm of  the Gates of Prosper project at Preston Road and U.S. Highway 380, which is poised to become the largest mixed-use development in the town. Spanning 500 acres, the project is slated for 1,000 apartments, single-family homes and townhouses, along with more than 1 million square feet of shops and restaurant space.
